CaseyMy name is Casey Smith, and I’m a sophomore majoring in journalism/ tcom news and anthropology with a minor in Spanish. As a contributor to this project, I have served on the website, promotions/ events, and history committees to engage in collaborative research and product creation for our study.

Beyond the Everyday Life in Middletown seminar, I am a lead reporter for the Ball State Daily News and editor-in-chief of Her Campus Ball State. I am also completing an internship in Ball State’s Applied Anthropology Lab as a NAGPRA intern before I spend the summer in Washington, D.C. as a Smithsonian Institution intern. Additionally, I will travel to Brazil in August to report at the 2016 Rio Olympics before beginning my junior year.

While keeping my own diary, I have found that thoughts relating to my job as a resident assistant make unpredictable appearances throughout my day-to-day activities, even when outside of the residence hall. I also discovered that numbers and patterns influence the way I perceive the people and things around me.
